The MG CAT Test is conducted by Mahatma Gandhi University. The Application form of MGU CAT will be available on the Official Website. The Candidates can apply through Online Mode. The Canidates should fill the required credentials. The Candidates should upload the Educational Qualification Document, Passport Size Photo, Signiature etc.
How to Apply for MG Common Admission Test ?
The Candidates who want to apply MGU CAT should follow the following steps.

General Rules for Admission
All the admissions will be provisional in nature until the candidates submit the original certificates / documents in proof of academic eligibility before the University authority concerned. If a candidate fails to furnish the relevant certificates on or before the last date announced by the University for the same his/her admission will be cancelled. Candidates awaiting results / appearing for final semester exam can also apply. However, they shall produce the original certificates before the closing date of admission.
For candidates who have passed the qualifying exams under the direct grading system where the grades are calculated on a CGPA out of 4, the grade points of the corresponding percentage of marks will be applicable. And for those whose scores are calculated under the CCPA out of 10 points also, the corresponding percentage of marks will be applicable.
If an applicant for admission is found to have indulged in ragging in the past or if it is noticed later, admissions shall be denied or he/she shall be expelled from the educational institution.
After the Seat Allotment process there will be provision for the admitted students to get transferred from one academic programme to another subject to their eligibility and the University norms in this regard.
An Entrance Test shall be conducted for the selection of candidates. All candidates except foreign students seeking admission, applicants for MBA and applicants for M. Tech with GATE score shall attend the Entrance Test.
The Common Entrance Test is of 120 minutes (2 hours) duration for all the programmes.
In programmes where an interview/Group Discussion/Written Test is conducted for the preparation of final rank list three times the required number of candidates for all categories will be called for interview /Group Discussion/Written Test in the first batch on the basis of their rank in the objective Test. The final rank list will be prepared on the basis of the score in the objective test, interview/Group Discussion/Written Test and adding the eligible bonus marks for NCC/NSS, Ex-Servicemen and the like.
Norms to avoid a tie: The first criteria to avoid a tie would be the score in the Common Admission Test (Objective test) and the second criteria would be age seniority.
Question Pattern; Test Score and time alloted: 80 MCQ with 4 choices for each question; Each correct answer will enable a candidate to score 1 marks; there will be no negative score for incorrect answers; maximum duration of the test will be 2 hrs
CAT-MGU and CENTRALISED ALLOTMENT PROCESS (CAP)
The admissions based on CAT- MGU will be through a Centralized allotment Process. There will be separate Entrance Tests for the various academic programmes offered in the different Schools of the University. The candidates need to register only one application (online) for a maximum of programmes of four different schools / departments / centres except MBA in SMBS. However, the candidate need to pay separate application fee for examinations opted from different schools / departments / centres.
Students may also see the schedule of examinations for different schools to verify which all programmes may be opted as their choice. A cluster of academic programmes in a School / Department / Centre to which admissions are made based on the single Entrance Test will be reckoned as a single option with a single application fee.
The candidate has also to mark his/her preference for the different specializations within the cluster at the time of online registration. In such cases also there will be separate rank lists for the different specialized programmes within the cluster based on the score in the Entrance Test and the preference marked by the candidate at the time of registration.
If a candidate submits more than one application in CAT- MGU his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled. It is a simple and transparent process of allotment which gives the candidate an opportunity to exercise maximum of 4 options of his/her choice conveniently in the order of preference. The allotments will be strictly based on the options exercised, the rank obtained and eligibility for reservations of the candidate (in the case of candidates under Kerala State category)
Admission Criteria
An Entrance Test shall be conducted for all programmes except International studentsquota seats. Interview /Group Discussion/ Descriptive examination shall be conducted foramong the University Departments which consider marks of interview / Group Discussion / Descriptive examination in addition to the marks of the Entrance test for admission. In thecase of admission to M.Tech programmes, those candidates with a valid GATE score willbe exempted from the entrance test and given preference but need to apply for theprogramme through the portal of Mahatma Gandhi University.
1. Candidates will be notified to submit the certificates within the stipulated date and those who fail to comply with this will not be considered in the admission process.
2. If a candidate fails to report for counselling on the specified date, his/her claim for selection will not be considered anymore.
3. The selection of candidates will be provisional and subject to the verification of original documents.
4. Those who are awaiting final semester results of qualifying exam can also apply provided that they should produce certificates and marklists of qualifying examination before the closing date of admission.
5. The University will not send any individual communication to the applicants regarding the time aloted for downloading hall ticket, entrance examination dates etc.All such information will be published on the CAT website and print media.. So candidates are advised to go through the website www.cat.mgu.ac.in regularly or keep in contact with the helpline number provided.
6. Candidates are required to read the prospectus carefully so as to make them fully aware of the eligibility criteria & fee structure of each programme, rules / procedures related to Application / Test / Option Registration / Allotment and all other matters related to Admission 2021

For SC/ST candidates : Rs. 550/- (Rupees Five hundred and fifty only)
For International Students : US$ 100 (Equivalent Indian Rupees on the date of payment)
Entrance Test Centre
There will be test centres in Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Kochi, Kozhikode and Kannur. The applicants can opt a maximum of 3 centres on a preferential basis. However the centres opted by an applicant is only his/her options, actual centre will be allotted by Mahatma Gandhi University which will be final. In most cases the centre opted by the applicant will be allotted. But the University may allot a different Centre either due to preponderance or shortage of applicant. Admit Cards
At the time announced for downloading the admit card by the University, log in CAT website using application number and password candidates can download hall ticket. The exact venue, date and time of the Entrance Examination will be there in the hall ticket.
Only online mode application is there to apply for the Entrance Test (CAT- MGU 2021) and to register options for admission to the various academic programmesin different teaching departments. Candidates need to register only oneapplication for maximum of four different programmes. However, the candidateneed to pay separate application fee for different programmes. Applicants should consider the following before applying for CAT 2021.
Applications should be submitted only after reviewing and confirming the prescribed eligibility prospects for the programs for which the applicants wish to apply. Before claiming bonus marks / weightage marks and community reservation, check the section on the subject mentioned in the prospectus.
The information provided in the application (except the name of the applicant and the selected program) may be modified before the end of the application date. The information provided in the application cannot be changed after the submission of the application. Before applying for PD category seats and All India quota seats, the parts of the prospectus that deal with the subject matter should be examined.
Before submitting the application, the fee structure prospects for each program should be examined and understood. Applicants can apply for up to four programs in a single application. There is a separate application fee for each program for the programs in different departments that require different entrance exams.
However, an application fee is sufficient to apply for more than one program (programs considered to be clustered) conducted by a department of study. Do not send more than one application for any reason. In case the application submission is not completed on the first attempt but the application is completed later, if the application number is received on the first attempt, the application submission can be completed by logging in with the application number and password.
The application number and password should be kept for later use. However, if you have forgotten your application number and password for any reason, you can get it back on the website. For this you can go back to the login page of the website and retrieve the application number and password using the links Forget Your Application Number / Forget Your Password.
When making a payment online the payment transaction may not take place for any reason and hence the application submission may not be completed but in case of loss of money from the account the transaction may be completed after some time. Applicants should, after some time, log in and verify that the payment transaction was successful.
However, in case the application submission is still incomplete and the money has not been returned to the account, the amount usually credited to the account will be automatically refunded within 7 days. If the refund is not received after the said date, the refund can be applied for using the link ONLINE REFUND REQUEST given on the CAT website The application status can be ascertained by using the token number received after submitting the refund request to know the next steps regarding the refund.

Online Registration
By clicking APPLY NOW tab candidates can initiate the online application process. The candidate should first create an account in the webpage by typing in the required minimum personal details and by creating a password for future login. The password can be a combination of alphabets, numerals and special characters. It should contain at least 1 special character and 1 numeral. The candidate should remember the password set by him/her and it should not be disclosed to anyone who may misuse it for tampering the options. The University will not be responsible for any such eventuality.
After the registration process is over click SAVE and CONTINUE, the account is generated the candidate will be shown his/her application number.This Application Number must be remembered for future login
Course Selection
On the basis of the qualification selected , list of programmes available under CAT will be listed. Candidates can choose for a maximum of programmes of four different Schools/Centres. The eligibility of the candidates is not verified at the time of application and it will be verified only during the admissions. Hence, candidates are advised to ensure that they are eligible for the courses.
